We really relaxed while we were at Pelican Roost. With Cass just finishing up tax season, she really wanted to just relax... and she did just that!! We sat outside most evenings, watched the boats go by and drank a beer or 2!!
On Monday, May 10th we took the St. Johns River Ferry across to Ft. George, Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach. The ferry was really fun!! It was a quick trip, about 5minutes across the St. Johns river. Cass sat in the car with the dogs and I stood out front and took still pictures on the ride over and took video on the ride back! We drove around.
We got as close as we could to see the Amelia Island Lighthouse without getting arrested! To get to the lighthouse, we had to drive through a residential neighborhood, keeping an eye on the lighthouse. We found it up a road with a locked gate, between 2 homes with barking dogs. I snapped a quick couple of pictures and we high-tailed it out of there!!
We had wonderful neighbors while we were there, Jeanie and Anthony! They had 2 dogs, females... Cocoa was a chocolate lab and Tessa was a Shih-Tzu! And they also tapped into Cass' knowledge of computers, cell phones and digital cameras... and repaid her (and ME!) with a yummy dinner at Carraba's!
